Treadmill Buying Guide - Part
2
Other options for shopping are more
specialized shops, many which deal in fitness equipment such as
home gyms, bikes, in-line skates and winter sports equipment.
Here you are going to find more knowledgeable sales
people that have more at stake when selling you their
products.
The positive side is you will be speaking
with an individual that is highly-educated in the field in
which you are shopping. They should be able to answer all
of your questions and help you learn the ins and outs of the
machine or machines you are considering. The downside to
this is you are going to be the victim of a hard
sell.
These people may work on commission, or
you may be dealing with a shop owner that has a personal
interest in selling you the machine. If you are committed to
buy, this will not be a problem, of course. But do not
let anyone pressure you if you are not ready.
Once you have chosen your treadmill, it is time to bring it
home. Much like a new piece of furniture, you are going
to want to find the perfect location for it. Hopefully, you
have chosen a room ahead of time and prepared space. You
will also need additional space immediatley for the set-up of
the equipment.
Be sure there is enough room around the
treadmill that you can work out comfortably and be safe.
Lastly, be sure there are not usually children or pets
around that will be interfering with the machine when it is in
operation.
Be sure to educate yourself as to the proper care and cleaning
of the treadmill you have purchased. If you buy new,
there should be a handbook that comes with the assembly
instructions. If you have purchased used, speak to the previous
owner who may still have the booklet. If not, you can find
instructions online for your specific machine. It is
important that you care for the equipment so it is usable for
many years to come.
The last thing on your list of to-do's when buying a treadmill
is to make sure you will have the motivation to continue using
it and to feel good about your purchase. Nothing makes you feel
worse than being faced every day with a piece of exercise equipment that you blew
off in the first few months.
It will discourage you from committing to
any other exercise programs and you will resent the purchase
you made, feeling as if you have failed. If you use the
treadmill buying guide, you will purchase with
confidence and you will be inspired to work out and get into
shape.
